It’s Steve Bann here.
We have a problem. Golfers are NOT improving.
Recent USGA stats show that the average handicap has dropped by less than 0.5 of a stroke in the last ten years.
This is in spite of all the technological advances, improvements in sports science, vast amount of golf instruction and so on.
Why is that?
I recently [...]

I played a Stableford competition at Kingswood GC on the 13th of December. Pretty solid ballstriking round (14 Greens in Regulation) but too many putts and 3 wipes (holes where I didn’t score a single point). Ended up with 36 Stableford points, but could have been much much better if I hadn’t putted so poorly.

I was told by my coach Steve Bann recently that there is more instructional material published/produced about golf than all other sports combined.
I don’t find this hard to believe. Why? Because all that supply is only responding to demand, or desire, and what do most golfers desire? A quick fix that’ll have them playing the [...]

I apologize for not writing much the last few days. Things are insanely busy at Pure Golf Training at the moment. We are working day and night to get our new assessment system up and running and that has meant less golf and more time staring at my computer screen.
In the meantime, I thought you [...]

Here is a video of my coach Steve Bann analysing some guy called Stuart Appleby’s golfswing. I dont know…apparently he’s got the sweetest looking swing on the PGA Tour and won a bunch of tournaments…or something like that. Good for you… Get over yourself buddy!
All jokes aside, I really do think “Apples” has one of [...]
My Golf Swing before the Journey begins…

I thought it would be a good idea to give everyone an idea of where I currently stand, golf game wise, before starting my journey. The idea here is to establish a starting point, against which all future progress (hopefully) can be measured.
Below is a video of my golf swing taken by my coach Steve Bann [...]
